Job Description:  We're looking for a newsroom leader with some specific but diverse skills.
You'll hold the No. 2 slot, with primary responsibility for our electronic products, including our social media and audience-development strategies. That means that while you'll be focused on what's in our products, you'll also help sell them to readers.
You will need the grizzled, brown-shoe street smarts of an editor who can run a news meeting, edit a story on deadline and help coach reporters into turning their ideas into top-flight reads, but you'll also need to fully understand what makes a great blog and how to promote it.
The right candidate will be the person who can coordinate with the IT department to quickly fix a website problem, while also being one of the public faces for our company, attending events and making occasional television, radio and other public appearances.
You ability to edit and occasional video or podcast would also be welcome.
You'll work in the heart of Oklahoma City, within walking distance of the Bricktown entertainment district, Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark (home of the Redhawks), the Chesapeake Arena (home of the Thunder), Cox Convention Center (home of the Barons), A 70-acre central park that's now being designed, the Oklahoma City Museum of Art, the Civic Center Music Hall, the Oklahoma City National Memorial and the Boathouse District on the Oklahoma River.
We work a Mon-Fri schedule and are closed on major holidays. Oklahoma was recently ranked by CNBC as the nation's least expensive state in which to live. There's a lot more data on the city here.
