Want to make a difference in daily newspaper journalism? Are you comfortable working and living in a small-town with proximity to the big city? Do you possess the energy and enthusiasm to cover whatever story needs to be covered while being resourceful to develop your own enterprise stories? Are you savvy with social media while recognizing that many readers still rely on the printed paper?
At Herald-Banner Publications in Greenville, Texas, a six-day a week daily in northeast Texas and 46 miles from Dallas, these traits matter. And so does good journalism.
We're looking for a reporter to cover the fast growing communities of Rockwall County, Royse City and Commerce. We're looking for someone who can cover the public meetings as well someone who can work a good feature. Being handy with a camera helps. You'll also have the opportunity to do some layout for the three weeklies as well as the daily Herald-Banner.
We cover a large swath of territory in northeast Texas. We do it with a staff committed to excellence and a readership that would have it no other way.
We are owned by Community Newspaper Holdings Inc. If you believe you have the skills and work capacity we seek, if you possess a strong sense of urgency vital in today's media landscape, we want to hear from you.
Please send a résumé and five clips to editor Lovell Beaulieu at email@example.com
