Assist editor with layout/design utilizing InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator software. Maintain existing advertising accounts and generate new advertising on regular basis. Strong writing skill required and must be willing to travel to cover events, stories and conduct interviews. Distributing newspaper twice a month on specified route. Maintain subscribers/mailing list. Administrative duties which include answering incoming calls, processing requisitions/check requests, process mail, filing, logging/depositing advertising revenue and any other administrative duties that arise.
Must have experience in journalism, photojournalism and would prefer experience in photography and graphic design. High School diploma required. Prefer bachelor’s degree in related field, however will strongly consider years of experience in the industry in lieu of degree. Must have strong writing skills. Must be experienced with Macintosh platform (utilizing programs such as InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Adobe PDF. Also must be familiar with Microsoft Office on Mac platform. Must also be familiar with social media apps such as Twitter and Facebook and maneuvering around the Internet. Must possess a valid Oklahoma driver’s license and have dependable transportation. Must be willing to work a flexible work schedule, which will include nights, weekends and holidays. Must be familiar with Native American traditions and cultures. Must be outgoing, professional and interact well with both Native and non-Native communities. Must be able to multi-task and work effectively under high stress situations. Tribal preference.
