The Chickasha Express-Star, a 4,100 six-day daily in Chickasha, Oklahoma is searching for a publisher.
The ideal candidate will have newspaper management experience, be an aggressive marketer committed to driving revenue and improving existing products while developing new ones, understand the importance of community journalism, possess team-building leadership skills and be active in the community. Additionally, experience in a small market that also has a competing newspaper is a plus.
The Express-Star, which is delivered via the postal service, is focused on serving its readers, advertisers and community through quality journalism. The location also publishes an expanded-distributed publication on Wednesday, a weekly publication in a nearby Tuttle, a quarterly community magazine and other print and online products and services.
Chickasha, which is located on Highway 81 and Interstate 44, offers a good quality of life with a focus on education and recreational outlets. Chickasha is also the home of the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma (USAO), one of the oldest public liberal arts colleges in America. Additionally, during the holiday season, the city showcases the largest Christmas light show in Oklahoma.
