Print Quality Contest

ELIGIBILITY: The OPA Print Quality Contest is open to all presses that print an OPA business or sustaining member newspaper.

DIVISIONS: All newspapers entering the Print Quality Contest will compete in the same division.

ENTRY FEE: $20 (entry fee may be included with Better Newspaper Contest payment).

JUDGING CRITERIA: Newspapers will be judged on black ink laydown, halftone quality, color registration, page alignment and overall print appearance.  

CONTEST PERIOD: January 1, 2017, to December 31, 2017.  

HOW TO ENTER: 1. Complete online entry form at
(When completing online entry form, the Division is “Special Awards” and the category is “Print Quality Contest.”)
2. Print the completed entry form (label) to mail.
3. Mail three (3) full issues printed on consecutive publication dates within the contest period AND the printed label to Oklahoma Press Association, ATTN: Print Quality Contest, 3601 N. Lincoln Blvd., Oklahoma City, OK 73105.
No more than one Sunday edition or special edition may be submitted. Facilities printing multiple OPA business member publications should submit only the publication with the highest press run.

POSTMARK DEADLINE: Monday, February 12, 2018.

OPA’s Print Quality Contest  is not part of the 2017 Better Newspaper Contest.  Winners will be announced during the OPA Convention, June 15-16, 2018, at the Grand Casino Hotel & Resort in Shawnee.
