Postal rate increases; no more updates to 3541 Excel spreadsheet

Postal rate increases go into effect on Jan. 27, 2019, with Periodicals seeing about a 2.5 percent increase. Postal software will support these new rate increases so if your publication uses one of them, it should all be updated.

However, if you’ve been using the Excel spreadsheet for the 3541 Postage Statement, it is no longer being updated.  The postal service wants those of you who were using this form to use the Business Customer Gateway to electronically submit your postage statement to the local post office. If you need help setting this up, call Jennifer Gilliland at OPA (405-499-0028 or email jgilliland@okpress.com) and we can get you in touch with the expert at the post office.

Don’t forget to budget for first-class mail increases in postage. The first-class Mail Forever stamp will increase by 5 cents – from 50 cents to 55 cents for one ounce. The additional ounce price drops from 21 cents to 15 cents. The meter price increases from 47 to 50 cents; postcards stay the same at 35 cents.
