Job Description:  The Killeen Daily Herald is seeking a journalist who is a fast and thorough page designer with copy editing capabilities to join our design/copy desk.The ideal candidate will be a team player, can multitask, learns quickly, works well under pressure and can work independently. He or she should have InDesign and Photoshop experience as well.The applicant for this full-time job must have strong editing skills, a solid knowledge of the AP Stylebook and the ability to write reader-grabbing headlines, as well as design pages. The designer copy edits stories and works with editors directly to produce high-quality community journalism. Killeen Daily Herald staff members are required to live in or move to the Daily Herald coverage area, which includes Killeen, Copperas Cove and Harker Heights. Killeen is in Central Texas, about 60 miles north of Austin, which is not in our coverage area.
