The Sequoyah County Times, a twice-weekly newspaper in the rolling hills of beautiful eastern Oklahoma, is seeking a news editor. This job presents an opportunity to cover a very wide variety of interesting new stories. The successful candidate will understand how to present compelling local news both in print and online, and strong writing, editing, and newsroom management skills. Must meet deadlines and have knowledge of AP style. Experience with website updating and the ability to use social media a plus. The Times is published Wednesdays and Fridays and produces a variety of special sections throughout the year.
The newspaper has been family-owned for over 80 years. Benefits including partially paid health insurance and cell phone allowance. The Times is a consistent OPA Better Newspaper Contest prize-winner.
