The Mount Pleasant Daily Tribune has an immediate opening for an advertising and marketing director for 4,200-circulation, five-day daily in Northeast Texas. This newspaper has been recently acquired, and the new owners are committed to aggressive sales and marketing of both the print and online products. We believe this market provides an excellent opportunity for someone with experience and drive.
We are looking for someone to drive fast-paced results while growing and mentoring a three-person sales team. Responsibilities include developing and executing sales strategies for all forms of newspaper and digital media advertising while meeting and exceeding monthly goals. This is a “hands-on” management opportunity and a revenue-driven position - you will handle accounts. We are looking for proven ability to motivate, sell, manage and identify marketing trends and sales opportunities. Developing and implementing innovative sales strategies to grow market share is important. Sales experience in a multi-media environment is a plus! Previous newspaper advertising sales experience is preferred. You must have excellent computer skills and knowledge of Office programs. Enthusiasm, great attitude, leadership, problem-solving, teamwork and people skills are a must!
