    Job Description  Requirements:  If you have ideas (with implementation skills) about growing readership, developing quality reporters and being a team player with a forward-thinking management staff, this may be the position for you.
    The Ardmoreite is a 9,500 circulation 6-day daily in southern Oklahoma with a solid newsroom staff. The ideal candidate for this position is comfortable as an experienced hands-on page designer (InDesign, Photoshop) who can manage a staff of nine, plus a number of stringers, and is willing to participate and communicate with the local community.
    This position involves evening hours, manages the day-to-day operation of the newsroom - including page layout, and reports directly to the publisher. This job requires focus, attention to detail, quality writing skills and the ability to coach young reporters and stretch experienced ones. We're looking for someone who can make every day a “must read” day for area subscribers and single-copy buyers.   
    A degree in journalism or related field is required plus a minimum five years of newsroom experience,including some management responsibility. Our priorities are a fresh outlook, detailed planning skills and a desire for excellence.

    Duties: Reports to the chairperson of the Mass Communication Department. Oversees the budget, operation, and web production of student publications including printing, computer technology, goals, and planning. Supervises business and content (print and web) production and operation of the student newspaper "The Vista". Supervises student production of blogging, podcasting and social networking.  Serves as adviser to student employees. Teaches classes each in the fall and spring semesters and in the summer semester. May supervise one Administrative Assistant I. Performs other related duties as assigned.
