Job Description:  The Chronicle is seeking experienced freelancers to write about and document the interesting stories of life in our coverage area. Photographers, videographers, social media gurus and storytellers are encouraged to apply.
The Chronicle is a weekly newspaper based out of Elgin, Oklahoma that prints 2,500 copies per week. We are transitioning to a more rounded media experience for audience in Southwest Oklahoma. Our current coverage area focuses on Elgin, Sterling, Medicine Park, Fletcher and Lawton.
Our ownership in investing in both our print product as well as our online and social media presence. We are looking for adventurous and talented people to help grow these media and their reach.
We need a diversity of voices in the market to tell these stories for us. That means a combination of traveling to/living in the area and covering events in person. Other stories can be done from a distance.
We're looking for original, riveting news features, Q&As, and company profiles. The owners of our parent company, Hilliary Communications, want The Chronicle to be the best newspaper possible as we tell the stories of the people who live, work and play in our area.
