Oklahoma Watch is seeking a reporter to cover K-12 education, with a focus on in-depth explanatory and investigative work. The reporter should have at least several years of professional experience and an ability to write cleanly, report aggressively and grasp the larger context of an issue. The reporter should be adept at tackling long-form stories as well as writing conversational blogs and tweeting. The job requires being able to master complex subjects and dig for revealing news and trends, relying on good sourcing, public-records requests and data analysis. Familiarity with multimedia is a plus.
Oklahoma Watch is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization that produces in-depth and investigative journalism on a range of public-policy issues, focusing often on the poor and disadvantaged. Our offices are at the University of Oklahoma in Norman. Salary and benefits are competitive.
