Job Description:  The Claremore (OK) Daily Progress seeks an experienced, digital-savvy top editor to lead its newsroom.
Applicants need newsroom management background, versatile online and print journalism skills, and the ability to inspire and coach the newsroom staff to produce quality content for print and online.
This is a hands-on position requiring initiative, imagination and sure-footed editorial and administrative judgment.  The editor is responsible for all news and opinion content. The editor is also a key member of the senior management team.
The Daily Progress is a five-day newspaper (no Monday and Saturday editions) that features website and mobile breaking news feeds daily.
Claremore is a suburb of Tulsa in northeast Oklahoma. It is the Rogers County seat, site of Rogers State University and the home of Oklahoma’s “Favorite Son,” Will Rogers, the early 20th century humorist, entertainer and journalist.
