Herald-Banner Publications seeks an experienced editor to produce thorough community coverage and thoughtful editorials in print and online for the six-day Greenville Herald-Banner.
The editor also manages three weekly newspapers serving Rockwall, Commerce and Royse City, as well as a quarterly magazine for Hunt County.
Applicants must be passionate about local news and demonstrate strong reporting, writing, design and editing skills as well as competency in the use of digital tools, such as photo galleries, video, audio and social media.
Newsroom management experience is necessary, including the ability to train and coach the staff of nine full-time and one part-time journalist in effective news-gathering and presentation skills for print and online.
The editor is a key member of our management team, participating in strategic planning and decisions.
Greenville is located in northeast Texas, 50 miles from Dallas on Interstate 30. The growing region is known for its recreational lakes, shopping and restaurants. A major U.S. Defense contractor, L-3 Communications Missions Integrating, is the area’s largest employer.
