Oklahoma Today magazine
Oklahoma Today, a sixty-year-old regional magazine based in Oklahoma City and published bimonthly by the Oklahoma Tourism and Recreation Department, is seeking an editor-in-chief. This person will lead an editorial staff of four, a freelance art director, and a stable of freelance writers and photographers to craft the creative vision of a national award-winning and much-beloved publication.
The ideal candidate will have a degree in journalism, English, or a related field and at least eight years’ experience editing and writing for editorial print publications. He or she will be well-versed in the languages of style, journalistic ethics, design, and reader relations and have demonstrated aptitude in both long-term planning and daily attention to detail. Experience as an editorial supervisor is a plus, as are a love of and connections in Oklahoma. Candidates who are familiar with the Chicago Manual of Style and finer points of grammar and usage will be at an advantage.
To apply, send resume, cover letter, two writing samples, and two editing samples to firstname.lastname@example.org
