Be sure to bring your camera. No ivory tower stuff; this is better photography for reporters working in the trenches of today's newspapers. This fast moving, multi-topic workshop will address not only the technical side of digital photography but also the aesthetic, story-telling side of photography.
Topics will include:
• Better natural light photography
• The five minute photo session
• How, when and why you should (or shouldn't) use RAW files
• Stuff you didn't know was in your digital camera's menus
• What all those buttons and icons on your camera mean
• How to talk to your subjects
• How to shoot sports inside and outside
• How to salvage bad photography
• Photoshop
• Getting better black-and white tonality from digital images

His photography has appeared on Dateline, been published in the New York Times, Newsweek, Newsweek Japan, Oklahoma Today, The National Enquirer, the National Examiner and other publications. He has worked all over the USA, in South Africa, Ghana, Ivory Coast, the Amazon jungle, the Galapagos Archipelago and the Yucatan Peninsula.
As a graphic designer Douglas Henderson has created posters, book covers, corporate logos, websites and more. A Photoshop wizard, his posters hang in several museums. He is an Adobe Certified Expert in Photoshop.
As a result of Doug's expertise in Photoshop and Photography he is in demand as a teacher and speaker on these topics. He is the author of Photoshop Now and Digital Photography Now and several other textbooks used in schools and tech centers across the USA.
