Norman Magazine Creative Director
This position will be responsible for the layout, design and overall presentation of Norman magazine. The creative director will work closely with the editor to make sure that all deadlines are met, as well as help with the day-to-day management of freelance writers and photographers. The CD will also work closely with the ad manager to ensure all ads and revenue are correct and that the overall presentation meets the high quality standards necessary to maintain and grow revenue.
This position will also help in coordinating photo shoots for the magazine. This includes working with photographers, retailers, casting, location scouting, hair & makeup and stylists. When necessary, and in the absence or otherwise engagement of our staff photographer, the CD could go take photos needed for different stories and features for any given issue as well.
The creative director is responsible for page layout, manifest management, advertorial feature design and layout, cohesive theme presentation, and any necessary ad building. This position will also have the ultimate responsibility of meeting all printing and publishing deadlines.
In addition, this position will assist the advertising department in the layout and design of Discover Norman, printserts, the Chamber Directory, our gift guides and other special sections that are currently on the books. This position is responsible for in-house marketing materials that are always needed such as rate cards, house ads for print/digital/magazine, banners, rack cards and other promotional materials throughout the year that this position could create and maintain.
