The Norman Transcript
The Norman Transcript is looking for a copy editor who is a dynamic page designer eager to help take our presentation to the next level.
The Transcript is accepting applications for a copy editor/page designer to work sports copy desk at least two days a week and the news copy desk the remainder of the time. This generally is evening shift work with weekend duty, so the successful candidate must be flexible. The successful candidate also will have a significant role in our online news delivery.
The successful candidate will be a wordsmith who knows AP Style and can spot gaps and unanswered questions in the storytelling. This candidate can write a strong headline, knowing when to play it straight and when to be clever, and can create pages that draw readers into the paper. This person must work well under deadline pressure, producing several pages each work shift.
If you have at least two years experience or see yourself as a talented recent graduate, then send your resume, cover letter and a few work samples to: Norman Transcript Editor Debra A. Parker at firstname.lastname@example.org
