The Norman Transcript is looking to add to its award-winning editorial department by hiring a paginator to join its copy desk.
The ideal candidate will have extensive InDesign experience and be comfortable working at night under deadline. The candidate needs to be proficient in AP style, pay strong attention to detail and have an extensive knowledge of spelling and grammar. NewsEdit or NewsEdit Pro and Blox CMS experience is a plus, but not required.
The position will require someone who is able to work quickly under deadline and produce pages that feature strong design, accurate headlines and aesthetically-pleasing hierarchy while communicating regularly with the copy desk chief, the editor and other members of the newsroom. Night and weekend shifts are required.
The Transcript has been published since 1889 and is located in Norman, Oklahoma, one of the largest cities in the state and home to the University of Oklahoma. Norman also features vibrant Campus Corner, downtown and University North Park shopping districts, an active arts and music scene and more than 50 parks.
