The award-winning Enid News & Eagle is now hiring for an area reporter with an emphasis on agriculture, energy and the environment. The regional daily News & Eagle and its growing website, EnidNews.com, cover a 10-county area in northwest Oklahoma. The sweepstakes winner in the Oklahoma Press Association’s largest division for four years straight, the News & Eagle was recognized with a statewide Freedom of Information Award for its successful lawsuit supporting the public’s First Amendment right of access to sealed court records.
The News & Eagle’s recent “Under Pressure” project won the nationwide Associated Press Media Editors' Community Journalism Public Service Initiative award and was just named co-winner for another Public Service award in the national Best of CNHI journalism contest.
Enid is experiencing significant growth with a revitalized downtown. Following the multi-million renovation of Enid’s historic Convention Hall, a full-service, multipurpose venue opened hosting national performing acts.
With a population around 50,000, Enid is the economic, social, medical, political and educational hub of northwest Oklahoma.
The reporter candidate must have a bachelor’s degree and experience being published.
Our collaborative, veteran staff is looking for an enterprising journalist with the versatility to produce top-notch print and online journalism on deadline. The candidate should be familiar and comfortable with multimedia, AP style and able to take direction. This full-time position offers a negotiable salary with health benefits and a 401(k) plan.
