FAQs

Q. Once we begin uploading PDFs and have our archive for internal use, can we reset the password ourselves or do we need ArcaSearch to do it?

A. You will be able to reset it yourself.

Q. If we have multiple sections in our paper, can we upload PDFs section-by-section as they are completed or should we wait and upload the entire paper at once?
|
A. You can upload the PDFs at any time you chose, so section-by-section is fine if that is what works best for you. ArcaSearch advises that you should be wary of online subscribers who log on to read the paper and find only section D, for example, available. They will call you to ask where the rest of the paper is. ArcaSearch also advises that is easier to keep track of what you've uploaded if you do each day's PDFs at the same time. In the end, though, it's what works best for your operation.

Q. Can we do combination rates for readers who want to subscribe to the printed paper and online version both?

A. It's not feasible to do that through the online subggscription web site. The best solution would be to offer a discount on the printed version to anyone who has a current subscription to the online version.

Q. How secure is the web site? Could someone hack the site, alter PDFs and then reload them?

A. ArcaSearch says: It's hard to quantify "secure." The web site isn't Pentagon-level secure, but it's secure. While it's possible that someone with computer hacking skills and a powerfully strong desire might be able to penetrate the site, the difficulty is high enough to make it extremely unlikely.
